I'm calling this entry Jump Rope Dress #1 because I will definitely be making more of these. In fact, I keep dreaming of different colour combinations and sleeve lengths and how I could almost create a whole new summer wardrobe for C out of this one pattern by Oliver and S.
The dress came together quite quickly and, once I figured out a few things I found to be quirky in the pattern (mostly due to my not reading the whole thing through first) and also discovered how to do the buttonholes on my new machine, I ended up with a gorgeous, unique Easter dress for my little girl.
The main fabric in the dress is yarn-dyed black Essex linen. I used Rashida Coleman-Hale's Washi Washi for the pockets and placket and a hint of an old Anna Maria Horner purple fabric for pocket accents. I finished everything off with bright pink top stitching and love the effect of the pink against the black.
I can't believe how grown up my little baby is looking in her ponytail. And how much she is rocking this dress!
