Put a Pin In It

Most of the time I like to try new things.  I say "most" because I'm also not a big fan of big changes.  One thing I've never tried making is a pincushion.  I've looked at hundreds on Flickr, gazed longingly at them on Pinterest, but never actually made one myself.  So when M-R decided we should do a pincushion swap at our Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild (OMQG) meeting, I grabbed a pen and didn't hesitate to put my name down.  Not even a little.  Well, maybe just a tad, but what better way to make yourself try something new than to sign a very official piece of paper saying that you will?

I've got a little stack of some Grey Abbey sitting on my sewing desk just asking to be made into something pretty.  So here goes.  By our next OMQG meeting, this lovely collection of fabrics will be a pincushion.  I'm linking up with A Lovely Year of Finishes.  Partner (Ginette), I hope you like the fabrics I've chosen.  I promise I'll make you something fabulous.

    1. Yes! But where is the time? How on earth do you get so much sewing done?

  2. With your Grey Abbey fabrics, your pincushion will be gorgeous. Beware, pincushions are know to be addictive.

    1. I can see that being the case. I already can't decide on one design, so I imagine I'm going to have to make more than one.

    1. Aren't they? I'm tempted to put them into my stash section of "I'm too pretty to cut into pieces."
