It's Been Too Long

This week I did something I haven't done in a long time...Too long. I finished a quilt! This one is inspired by this wonky strip quilt, but instead of white, I used Essex Linen in black for the large sashing and the binding.  I backed it all in luscious, oh-so-soft Anna Maria Horner flannel from Mad About Patchwork and quilted it in various spacing of straight lines.  Like it?  Me too.  I'm a little sad to see it go.  Maybe someday I'll get around to making another quilt of my own.  Someday in a land far, far away.

THE BUNTING IS HERE! (Kickstarter Reward #1 Done!)

The bunting is here.  The bunting is here!  Let's all give a cheer...The bunting is here!!!  If you remember back in May when I had a little Kickstarter campaign running to help make my dream of Waffle Kisses Studio a reality, you'll remember that there were all sorts of rewards for people who wanted to contribute.  The first reward at the $10 level (or higher) was having your first name included on bunting that would hang in the studio.

I had set myself a deadline of the end of June and I don't like to be late on my commitments, so I spent every waking moment of the past 3 nights in a sewing trance..."MUST...FINISH...BUNTING..." was my mantra.  And finish, I did.  This gorgeous bunting with each of our backers names who pledged over $10 now hangs in the studio, draped above the sewcial table.  It's lovely and you're all so lovely for making this happen.  Isn't it pretty?  I'll be getting some, ahem, professional pictures taken soon, so in the meantime, I apologize for the lighting, fuzziness, etc.  Can you spot your name?
